Celebrating Crystal Brown: 2023 Regional Classified Employee of the Year

In a heartwarming celebration of dedication and service, the Sequim School District and the Olympic Educational Service District (OESD) proudly honor Crystal Brown as the 2023 Regional Classified Employee of the Year. Crystal’s exceptional journey in education has been marked by versatility, commitment, and dedication to student success.

As the Learning Support Services Coordinator in the Sequim School District, Crystal plays a pivotal role in supporting PK-12 students and their families. Her impact resonates throughout the district, ensuring that every student has the tools and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.

Since 2007, Crystal has been an integral part of the Sequim School District, dedicating sixteen years of her life to the betterment of education. Her commitment has left an incredible mark on the district and the lives of countless students.  Her journey within the district is a testament to her adaptability and passion for education. From paraeducator to health clerk to office coordinator, she has embraced diverse roles, showcasing her unwavering dedication to the students and the community.

At Helen Haller Elementary, Crystal’s role as office coordinator was instrumental in the school’s daily operations. Her dedication earned the trust and respect of the entire school community.  Currently serving as the Learning Support Services Coordinator, Crystal provides vital support to students, staff, and families. Her responsibilities include ensuring compliance and student success, providing support for students with specialized education plans, compliance reviews, data entry, and more.

Crystal’s coordination of the Extended School Year (ESY) program has been instrumental in helping students maintain their learning skills and behaviors.  Her contributions to implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) have had a profound impact on the district’s culture and student success.
