The OESD Region Welcomes Two New Superintendents for the 2017-2018 School Year!

Dr. Laurynn Evans, Superintendent – North Kitsap School District No. 500

Dr. Laurynn Evans is returning to Washington State after spending five years working in international and independent schools.  She served as the Assistant Head of School at Francis Parker School in San Diego, CA, before taking on her new role at North Kitsap. Previous roles include human resources, school administration, and teaching both abroad and in Washington State and Texas.

In her free time, Dr. Evans enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends.  She is an avid diver, having logged over 1000 scuba dives in the greater Puget Sound area.  She is looking forward to serving her local community in North Kitsap!

Rick Rohlman

Rick Rohlman, Superintendent/Principal – Queets-Clearwater School District No. 020

Rick Rohlman is welcomed by the Queets-Clearwater School District from Lower Kuskokwim School District located in Nightmute, Alaska, where he has served as Site Administrator since 2014.   He comes with 25 years of educator experience working in Alaska’s schools. Previous roles include, special education director, principal, educational consultant with distance learning organizations, and working within the Native American community.

Mr. Rohlman expressed his enthusiasm for becoming part of education in the region.  “Queets-Clearwater is a wonderful opportunity to support a rural small school organization with current instructional techniques and technology.  QCSD is so similar to Alaskan small school districts that I feel very “at home.” The opportunity to work with QCSD Is an exceptional opportunity and I feel extremely lucky.” 

In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors with special interest in saltwater fishing.
