    NASA: Earth Series for Secondary Teachers

    In this series for secondary (Grades 6-12) science/CTE teachers, we will take an integrated approach to the sciences (Life/Earth/Physical) and include connections to math and engineering. Classroom-ready activities aligned to NGSS 3-D learning will be included in each session.

    "Growing Elementary Science" 1-Year Cohort

    There is one upcoming opportunity for K-5 teachers that we want to let you know about right away.  We are building a cohort of up to 30 K-5 teachers for a year-long effort called “Growing Elementary Science.”  This cohort will be open to any K-5 teacher in the region.

    K-8 Edison Robotics

    In this workshop, you will learn how to use the Edison robots to teach your students about technology, engineering, and computer programming. Participants will be eligible to borrow a classroom set of Edison robots (15 robots, batteries, lesson plans) for 3 weeks.  COST: $20 per session

    Novel Engineering 
    Level 1 (Morning)
    Level 2 (Afternoon) 

    Have you heard the buzz about Novel Engineering, but haven't made it to Level 1 OR Level 2 yet?  Here is your chance to get one or both on the same day!  Come learn how to use storybooks, chapter books, novels, and excerpts to launch authentic engineering designs.  Suitable for PreK-12.

    Level 1: 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM.  Experience a full project from a student perspective
    Level 2: 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM.  Learn more about the role of the teacher in facilitating successful projects

    Light breakfast and snacks provided.
    If you register for both sessions, Lunch is also provided.

    Although this isn’t a STEM-only event, there will be STEM-related sessions for Pre-K to 2, as well as many other topics to choose from.  The same sessions will be offered each day.

    NGSS201 for K-12 Teachers

    There is more to the NGSS  than just the basics!  This "next-level" workshop will help you advance in your  understanding and application of NGSS.  Topics will include student practices, teacher practices, and complex modeling as a central practice.  Participants should have some previous understanding of NGSS basics, which could include NGSS101 workshops or other experience.
