Fingerprinting ServicesOlympic ESD 114 offers digital fingerprint background checks by utilizing live-scan technology. The live-scan equipment allows the quality of prints to be checked on the equipment when they’re being taken, creating few necessary retakes and without the need for any fingerprints to be inked onto a card. Fingerprints are directly submitted to the Washington State Patrol. After additonal review by the FBI, fingerprints are held by OSPI. Fingerprints taken through live-scan are generally cleared within just 1 to 2 weeks. Due to this technology we ask that you not schedule an appointment if you are suffering from cuts, wounds, or injuries to your hands or are experinceing general ill health. If you have had issues with prints on live-scan you should go to WSP in Olympia for ink prints. WSP is the ONLY agency who will accept their own prints regardeless of quality. Look on the OSPI website for more information about receiveing cards in the mail for ink print at WSP. Fingerprinting is required of individuals who have regular, unsupervised access to children, including those seeking certificates and those seeking certified or classified employment.
Digital fingerprinting is available in our Bremerton Office by appointment only. Directions to our office can be found under About OESD-Directions to OESD.
