Greg Lynch, Superintendent of Central Kitsap School District, was recently selected as the new Superintendent for the Olympic ESD 114.  Lynch will start his post at OESD on July 1, taking over for retiring Superintendent, Dr. Walt Bigby.

Lynch joins the ESD with 9 years of experience at the helm of CKSD.  Through his tenure, he has faced budget cuts, school closures and meeting the needs of changing educational standards.  His position required management of multi-million dollar budgets, approximately 1500 employees and over 11,000 students.

Lynch also led a distinguished career in the US Army, serving for twenty seven years and retiring as a Colonel.  Most recently, he has served as the Dean of Academics and School Director for Higher Education at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s degree in Management, and training in Executive Leadership and Education Administration.

Olympic ESD’s current Superintendent, Walt Bigby, notes, “Greg Lynch’s experience as the Central Kitsap Superintendent is great preparation for his new role.  His familiarity with the region and its Superintendents will be very useful to him as he attempts to meet their needs.   Mr. Lynch has spent a great amount of time familiarizing himself with all facets of OESD responsibilities and should be able to ‘hit the ground running.’   Greg is a skilled and respected leader with connections at the state and federal level that will be beneficial to him as he strives to strengthen the interdependence of the OESD and those we serve.”

The Olympic ESD welcomes and looks forward to working with Mr. Lynch.
