This fall (2024), Olympic Educational Service District 114 (OESD) proudly opened Northwater, a specialized regional school aimed at providing intensive academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students. Serving the districts of Kitsap, Jefferson, Clallam, and parts of Mason counties, Northwater is a collaboration with Chancelight Behavioral Health and Education Company, offering a tailored day program for students identified by their special education teams as needing more focused assistance.

On September 27, 2024, district superintendents from the region toured the new facility, exploring the innovative environment designed to help students with complex needs thrive. The establishment of Northwater is the culmination of two years of extensive study and collaboration with regional partners, highlighting the necessity for a more supportive educational setting for some students to achieve their goals.

Located at the former Breidablik Elementary School in Poulsbo, WA, Northwater will serve students from across the OESD 114 region, supported by local school districts that refer students to the program. Chancelight brings a wealth of experience, having successfully operated 104 programs across 15 states in partnership with 240 districts.
