Leaders spent the morning of January 16, 2026, visiting four Early Learning programs in Port Orchard, getting a close look at the caring, vibrant, and responsive classrooms supporting infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
At Discovery Early Head Start, visitors were welcomed into a warm, nurturing space designed to support young parents and their children. Nearby, the Discovery Head Start program shared how they support preschoolers’ growth while providing developmentally rich learning experiences within a supportive school-based setting.
At the Givens ECEAP classroom, the team highlighted strong family partnerships, bilingual supports, and inclusive practices that ensure children with IEPs are fully supported.
The group also visited Bridge to Preschool, where staff introduced the hybrid model that blends classroom learning with home visits to strengthen routines and social-emotional skills.
Across all sites, staff greeted visitors warmly and shared stories that highlighted the heart and impact of early learning in our region.
Thank you to the classroom teams for opening your doors and sharing your work, and to the staff who supported the planning and coordination of these site visits. Your dedication, collaboration, and care made this meaningful experience possible.
