The OpenSciEd project is impacting science education in many states across the US, including right here in our region. Bringing the national focus to our local schools, Olympic ESD’s very own Science Instructional Coordinator Jeff Ryan has been supporting the following school districts in our region with training and implementation support: Central Kitsap, Sequim, Port Angeles, and Port Townsend.

OpenSciEd brings together educators, state science administrators, curriculum developers, and professional development providers to improve science education through the development and implementation of high-quality, freely available, science instructional materials. Linked here is an article that appeared in Education Week about OpenSciEd: https://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2019/08/28/teachers-nationwide-now-have-access-to-open-source.html
