The 40th Annual High School Art Show was held at the Olympic ESD on March 6, 2013. In an event honoring student creativity, ESD staff, students, parents and teachers from 10 area high schools joined together.
Over 150 people were in attendance as over 30 students took the microphone to explain their art, the motivation and thought behind it. Introduced by Sarah Freitas, Anne Banks the OSPI Art Program Coordinator and Superintendent Walt Bigby welcomed students and advocated for the importance of art in the school system.
Seven winners were named at the regional awards, and their art will advance to the statewide High School Art Show at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. Art will be on display at the Old Capital Building from April 3-May 30. The Awards and Reception will be held on Friday, May 17 from 2-4pm.
